Striving for excellence
Glen Eira City Choir
Enjoy singing? Join us in singing a range of music including classical oratorios, opera choruses, and lighter music from musicals.
We welcome newcomers, especially those who enjoy learning and performing choral music. Our SATB choir comprises 50 male and female voices. No audition is necessary but it is an advantage to be able to read music. We sing in 4 parts (and for some music in 8 parts) so it is also an advantage to be able to hold your own part.
We rehearse in Brighton but have people come from Balwyn to Bayside to sing with us. We encourage you to come along for a rehearsal and try us out.
Our choir strives for excellence and engages professional soloists for major choral works. In June this year we performed Karl Jenkins Requiem, with the Bendigo Chorale, in Brighton and Bendigo. Our next concert is in Brighton on December 7 when we will be singing Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, plus well known Christmas Carols with audience participation.
All welcome!
Join in the chorus!
Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings 7.30pm to 9.30pm at:
St Andrew’s Anglican Church (Pioneer Chapel)
228 New St, Brighton VIC 3186
