The Glen Eira City Choir is a mixed non-profit choir with approximately 70 choristers who enjoy a social get together and the opportunity to sing a varied and wide ranging repertoire of music under the guidance and direction of its conductor, the highly acclaimed Jane Elton Brown, OAM.
In 2019 we are honouring Jane Elton Brown in her final year as our conductor, again doing three concerts, our first in June, Mozart’s Requiem.
Join us on Monday, February 4 for our first rehearsal in 2019.
In 2018 we performed three concerts, the first a mixed program entitled By George, including music by Gershwin, Handel and Dreyfus;
Faure’s Requiem & excerpts from Haydn’s Nelson Mass on Sunday September 16;and a Christmas themed concert on Sunday December 9.
Our repertoire is varied and ranges from classical to light music.Variety is the key. Why not come along and try us out? No audition is necessary but it does help to be able to read music.
We always look forward to hearing from new choristers who would like to come along to sing with us. We rehearse most Monday nights at the Indonesian Uniting Church Hall, 158 Balaclava Road, Caulfield.
First rehearsal 2019 7.30 for 7.45 pm Monday 4 February.
