The Glen Eira City Choir is a mixed non-profit choir with over 70 choristers who enjoy a social get together and the opportunity to sing a varied and wide ranging repertoire of music under the guidance and direction of its conductor, the highly acclaimed Jane Elton Brown, OAM. The Choir presented two concerts in 2016 ,one of which featured major choral works, and also performed at community events such as the annual Glen Eira Anzac Service. Our repertoire is varied and ranges from opera to classical European but sometimes we splash out and sing fun songs on a theme. Don’t let your musical talent go to waste, why not come along and try us out? No audition is necessary but it really helps to be able to read music.
We always look forward to hearing from new choristers who would like to come along to sing with us. We rehearse most Monday nights at the Indonesian Uniting Church Hall, 158 Balaclava Road, Caulfield. Please click here for directions.
Last year the choir celebrated it’s 70th year of choral singing in the Glen Eira community. It’s a wonderful achievement for a community choir to continue to celebrate music, fun and friendship for such a long time! Our thanks and congratulations go to Jane Elton-Brown OAM for her dedication and drive as our conductor and to our choristers for your constant time, vocal and financial commitment throughout the years.
Our first concert for 2017 is on Sunday May 29 at Glen Eira City Hall. Rehearsals started on Monday January 29. New choristers welcome.
